Our Sunway Alumni High Tea held on Friday, 12 September 2025 was a delightful afternoon dedicated to celebrating the bond among Sunway Alumni who continue to grow their careers within the Sunway Group. The gathering served as a meaningful platform for reconnection, reflection, and reaffirmation of the shared values that unite us as one Sunway family.
The high tea featured a line-up of distinguished panellists in an engaging discussion - Mr. Evan Cheah, Chairman of the Board of Governors, Sunway University; Professor Dato’ Elizabeth Lee, CEO of Sunway Education Group; and Ms. Loo Hoey Theen, General Manager of Marketing & Business Innovation at Sunway Malls. Together, they shared heartfelt messages and insights that reminded everyone of what it truly means to be part of the Sunway community.
Professor Dato’ Elizabeth Lee expressed her pride in seeing alumni who remain closely connected to their alma mater through their work within the Group. She encouraged alumni to be proud of how their alma mater continues to grow and make its mark globally, and reminded them that they remain part of the larger Sunway family. She also introduced the 3Ts to 5Ts initiative, which highlights meaningful ways alumni can contribute through Time, Talent, Treasure, Ties and Testimony.
Mr. Evan Cheah reflected on the Group’s philosophy of “business with a heart” and its long-term mission of sustainability and integrity. He emphasised that Sunway’s success lies in its ability to make a lasting impact on future generations and encouraged alumni to be part of that ongoing journey.
Ms. Loo Hoey Theen shared how Sunway Malls collaborates with Sunway University to create real world learning opportunities for students. Through joint marketing projects, students can gain valuable industry exposure while contributing innovative ideas to the brand. She also encouraged more cross collaboration across Sunway business units.
The event concluded on a warm and inspiring note as alumni mingled over tea, sharing stories and ideas on how they could continue contributing to the Sunway vision in their own ways.
