An exciting time of learning!
On 7th January, a group of Sunway Student Volunteers (SSV) alumni organised an event called “Parents For A Day” where they brought a group of kids from Rumah Juara, Puchong out for an exciting time of learning!
A total of 15 kids had the opportunity to be Junior Explorers at the Sunway Lagoon Explorer Rangers programme, an outdoor educational programme curated by a group of zoologists and educators from Sunway Theme Parks for children to learn about the wildlife, science, and sustainability. Sunway Lagoon kindly sponsored this experience for the children!
The wildlife rangers taught the kids about the different types of bird species, and needless to say, they learned a lot! They also had a drawing and painting session where they drew the birds that caught their attention. After a fun time of learning, everyone had a satisfying lunch and then proceeded to visit the Sunway Wildlife Park where they saw many different types of animals in real life! So exciting! The kids were really happy to see a tiger up close!
It was truly a fulfilling day, not just for the kids but also for our alumni volunteers. Just a simple act of kindness, showing care for them makes a big difference in their lives. We are sure that this was an unforgettable experience for the kids! We would like to thank Rumah Juara for entrusting us in giving the kids a memorable time in Sunway Lagoon!
That said, we are grateful for our SSV alumni for their continuous generosity and willingness in giving back to the community, in partnership with Sunway. We hope for more events like this in the future where we make a difference in each and everyone’s lives, one step at a time, one day at a time.
