CEO Global Engagement: Hanoi
What a meaningful evening it was at our CEO Global Engagement series in Hanoi, Vietnam, marking our very first alumni gathering in the city and our second engagement in Vietnam following Ho Chi Minh City in 2023. We were truly delighted to reconnect with our alumni in Hanoi and deeply grateful to those who travelled from near and far to be with us.
The evening began with a recap video of our 2025 alumni engagements, setting a warm and nostalgic tone for the night. Our emcee, Dr Riley Pham, lecturer from the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management and a proud Sunway alumnus, guided the programme seamlessly throughout the evening.
This was followed by an opening address by Professor Dato’ Elizabeth Lee, CEO of Sunway Education Group, who shared updates on the institution’s growth and expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the alumni community for their continued support. We were also honoured to have special remarks delivered by Dato' Tan Yang Thai, Ambassador of Malaysia to Vietnam. A token of appreciation was presented to the Ambassador in recognition of his support, before the evening transitioned into dinner and networking.
The programme also featured a specially prepared video showcasing our current Vietnamese students, ending with heartfelt wishes dedicated to the alumni in Vietnam. In addition, a touching video message was shared by our alumna, Thuy-Vy Phan, who is currently based in the United States. She conveyed her warm greetings to Professor Elizabeth and fellow alumni, adding a personal and meaningful touch to the evening.
The night concluded with a group photo session followed by further networking among alumni, filled with warm conversations and renewed connections. We were truly grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with alumni from both earlier and more recent graduating cohorts. Our sincerest thanks to everyone who joined us and spent their precious time with us. We hope to visit again soon and look forward to welcoming some of you in Malaysia in the near future!
