Alumni & Scholars Connect 2024
In the month of May, we had the privilege of organising a get-together for our alumni and Community Scholars. The “Alumni and Scholars Connect” event aimed to allow our current and potential alumni donors to get to know our Community Scholars a little bit more.
We had the honour of having Professor Dato’ Elizabeth Lee, CEO of Sunway Education Group, and Miss Lee Siok Ping, Chief of Student LIFE & Services, to grace us with their presence during the event. We started off with an opening speech by Professor Dato’ Elizabeth Lee, acknowledging the giving efforts of our alumni and highlighting the impact of their donations.
We also had a fun activity for our alumni and Community Scholars - making a DIY Giving Tree. Using the materials given, each group broke the ice by creating a tree that incorporated the values of giving. After their hard work, everyone presented their craft to be judged, and it was a difficult choice!
To show their appreciation towards the alumni, our Community Scholars presented each of them with a small token of gratitude - a succulent! This gift symbolised the potential of each student to be nurtured and to grow in their skills and knowledge.
This event was a success as it brought both donors and scholars together, to get to know each other, and share their experiences with each other in hopes that it will inspire everyone to cultivate a generous and giving spirit.
