Pals to Pairs - Mingle, Mix, and Match

To spice up the start of the year, we decided to shake things up with a unique speed-dating-style event! "Pals to Pairs: Mingle, Mix, and Match" was designed to bring our alumni community together in a fun, light-hearted way - whether to forge new friendships or perhaps even spark something special.

This event was co-organised with our alumna, Suet Ling, author of All the Single Ladies, a book that shares her personal dating experiences and valuable insights. Her key message? To find the right one, we must first become the right one.

The evening kicked off with a warm welcome from our team, followed by Suet Ling taking the floor. She introduced the "ABCDs of Datetiquette" - a set of practical tips on self-presentation, understanding personal values, and identifying what we truly seek in a partner. Her sharing was packed with useful and entertaining insights, leaving everyone with plenty to reflect on.

After the talk, it was time to mingle over dinner. As the conversations flowed, so did the laughter, and soon the room was buzzing with energy. It was heartwarming to see people who had just met engaging in such lively discussions.

To add to the fun, Suet Ling prepared interactive group activities. Participants shared their cheesiest pick-up lines, discussed their ideal partner traits, and posed questions about the opposite gender. While we may never know exactly what was said, we can confirm that the pick-up lines were hilariously over-the-top!

To close the night, attendees shared messages with those they connected with - whether as potential partners or simply new friends. It was incredible to witness how strangers at the start of the event left with newfound connections by the end.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and an even bigger shoutout to Suet Ling for making this event both meaningful and unforgettable. We hope everyone had as much fun as we did!
