Supporting Dreams, Strengthening Community

Sunway played an important role in shaping who I am today, both personally and professionally. The time I spent there laid the foundation for my career, and it’s a community I continue to feel connected to long after graduation.
 

When the opportunity came to give back as an alumni mentor and community donor, it felt like a meaningful way to contribute to the next generation of Sunway students.
 

For me, mentorship is something I personally wish I had more of during my university years. While my academic journey prepared me well, I didn’t always have access to guidance around career progression or long-term career planning. Looking back, I would have benefited from having someone to help me think ahead, explore different paths, and understand that it’s perfectly fine to pursue a career direction that may not strictly follow your academic background.
 

Through the mentoring programme, I hope to help students feel more confident in exploring their options and making informed decisions about their future.
 

Supporting the Community Scholars programme is another way for me to contribute to the Sunway community. It’s a small but meaningful way to support students from underprivileged backgrounds so they can focus on their studies and university life with a little more peace of mind.
 

Giving back to Sunway is truly a full-circle moment for me. It’s about staying connected to a university that once invested in me, and now being able to play a small part in supporting the journey of future students.
 

I’m proud to be a Sunway alumnus, and grateful for the opportunity to give back in ways which are meaningful to me.
