My experience in the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Industrial Statistics programme at Sunway University gave me a strong foundation in statistical analysis, data interpretation, and research. One of the aspects I valued most about the programme was the opportunity to learn and work with different analytical tools, including R, Python, Excel, and SAS. Being exposed to different tools helped me become adaptable and prepared me to work with different types of data and analytical requirements.

The programme also provided a good balance between statistical theory and its practical application. Through coursework and projects, I learned how to approach research questions systematically and critically, interpret statistical results, and consider the context behind the data. These skills were particularly valuable when I began my career at Ipsos.

During my internship at Ipsos, I was exposed to public affairs and survey research, where my background in statistical analysis and data interpretation allowed me to contribute to national-level survey projects. When I later joined Ipsos as a Data Analyst, I took on a more technical role involving different types of analysis. The statistical foundation I developed through the programme helped me understand analytical methods more easily, interpret results, and translate data into actionable insights.

The skills I gained from the programme have also been valuable in my current role as a lecturer, where I am able to apply and communicate statistical concepts in a practical way. Overall, the Industrial Statistics programme has provided me with a strong foundation that I have been able to apply across both industry and teaching.
